How Do You Start Seeds For An Outside Garden Using A Hydroponic System?

I want to rig up a home made hydro system to start seedlings for an outside garden. will the seedlings grow faster and be healthier if i do this. any suggestions on how i would do this. do I want a deep water culture or a flood and drain system. thank you.
