Peas are hardy. Plunk them in the dirt outside. Snow peas will produce an abundance of pods, pick them while the pea is less than 1/4 inch in diameter. English, early and Alaska peas, unless you are going to eat the young pod and all will require planting the entire package of peas - you need lots of them for shelling. It will take you an hour or two to shell enough for a meal. suggest planting them along a fence for them to climb on. Good luck from SC.
Grew my peas in full sun. Delicious. Surface water seeds daily (unless it rains, of course.) Once the seedlings are up deep watering twice a week is sufficient. Save your Jiffy pots for tomatoes, flowers, or vegies not grown in great quantity.

I'd keep them indoors, in the best sun you have, until they get too big, about a foot tall. If you put them out now it will slow them down lots. They can take the cold but they don't grow fast in it. They can take lots of direct sun too, as long as they are kept watered and not so hot they dry out. You need to have something they can climb on and more than a single string. The concrete reinforcement screen, ( can't remember the correct name right now) the stuff with about 6" square openings, works great. Jiffy pots might be better because I think the soil in them would hold together better when you replant. Ideally you like to plant some now, wait a month or so and plant more.
