I reside in North Central Florida, and I have five acres of land. How can I start a vegetable and herb garden? What should be included? Etc. Thank you in advance.

I don’t know if it is particular to the UK, but I have seen so many gardens with that I wonder what purpose they serve. I can understand that, years ago they may have been regarded as cute or fun but I would have hoped that we had moved on since then. If a garden owner wants to have ornaments then surely there is a big enough range to choose from rather than buy a gnome. Do owners of gnomes want to tell the world that they are being an individual and don’t care what the public amy think? I really am at a loss to understand why this ugly adornment remains an item that can be so readily bought!

Planted in my garden are eggplants, zuccini, yellow crooked neck squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, cayenne peppers, green onions, and sunflowers. Not all of my plants are changing colors, and the ones that are turning colors are not next to each other. Some are on opposite sides of the garden, that’s why I think it is something in the soil. I can’t find the answer to this problem ANYWHERE!!!!!

My neighbor says to use railroad ties but those might not fit with our look in the backyard. I was thinking more along the lines of some 2×6′s that are pre-treated to prevent rotting. Will this affect the chemicals that enter the soil? Are they dangerous? Does anyone have any good links to help with the building and prep work for a new veggie garden?
I’m think of making four 4×4 squares for the garden. Any tips would be great.

My mum’s having this problem, the next door neighbour’s cats keep just coming in our back garden and just parking theirselves and taking a poo. Is there any way I could do something to stop the cats wanting to do this?
Thanks for any replies.

My husband planted regular and garlic chives in the garden this year (my first experience with fresh chives) and I was wondering the best way to dehydrate them. I cut them, put them on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven at 250 degrees for 4 hours but that did’t seem to do the trick.
Thanks for your time and your help.

I transplanted four seedlings into my garden recently and they are slowly dying. I grew the seedlings indoors and stared leaving the outside every other day until I decided to plant them in my new garden. I watered them before transplanting, made a hole and filled it with water and planted them, but they still didn’t make it. Im new at gardening, your pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I’m having trouble picturing the weasleys backyard garden. Is there a fence just around the garden or is it around the entire house?
