I reside in North Central Florida, and I have five acres of land. How can I start a vegetable and herb garden? What should be included? Etc. Thank you in advance.

Through many years experience I have found the last frost occurs three days after I plant tomatoes.
Seriously I learned this from my dad. Check for the last average frost date in your area, wait two days after the next full moon. A cold front usually occurs with a full moon.
Trust me – it works.

This is my first vegetable garden and I would like to know when is it a good time to start tilling? Should you till after a good rain and/or wait a day or two? How should the ground be overall before tilling?

I live in a little town/village type place, but I have a fairly big backyard. My dad gardens and I want o make my own garden. My dad grew up on a farm and knows a lot about plants so he could help me.
What are some things I need to start? What do I need to know?

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as far as what I need to know, tips, and the best websites to visit?
I’m hoping to plant some vegetables like tomatoes and green beans, and transfering in a fully grown fruit tree, like apple, and a palm tree.
I live in a hot climate and I’m pretty sure the soil is mostly clay, if that helps.
Thanks for any help!
