I reside in North Central Florida, and I have five acres of land. How can I start a vegetable and herb garden? What should be included? Etc. Thank you in advance.

Planted in my garden are eggplants, zuccini, yellow crooked neck squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, cayenne peppers, green onions, and sunflowers. Not all of my plants are changing colors, and the ones that are turning colors are not next to each other. Some are on opposite sides of the garden, that’s why I think it is something in the soil. I can’t find the answer to this problem ANYWHERE!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who responded to my first question regarding putting too much organic fertilizer on my vegetable garden before the seeds germinated.
Now what can I do? Are the seeds/soil beyond repair? Thanks.

I have a fairly large vegetable and herb garden in my backyard. I’ve been growing tomatoes, carrots, pea, potatoes, and herbs such as chives, thyme, barley, sage, rosemary, and others. It will be getting colder soon and I was wondering what I should do to save my plants over the winter, so they can grow back next summer?

I am attempting a garden for the first time, and am unsure of the best spot to plan it. Our house block much of the sun in our yard, so the best spot is at the bottom of a small slope where the water runoff passes, leaving the ground almost always saturated and soft. I planned on building a bit of a raised bed. Is this a good spot to plan my garden or not? I watched a few videos online and one said it would be a good spot, but I wanted to be sure.
Thanks in advance!

do you have a toad house?
a pond?
how many toads?
are they helping with the garden insects?
i have about a dozen toads, 3 toad houses, a pond, and they seem to be keeping the garden free of pests. i am not using pesticides, i prefer the toads. tell me about your garden toads.

I’m in Southeast Tennessee, it doesn’t rain much. My garden is in direct sun for most of the day. It has 7 inches of a compost/manure and is mulched with straw. I have a soaker hose.
About how many inches should it get?
Should I water every day, every other, or once a week?

I am wanting to grow all types of peas, english, snow, early, alaska, etc. I have started some other plants in jiffy peat pots, but wondering about how to do the peas. Package says to sow outdoors 6-8 weeks before last spring frost, which would be about now as I live in NC. Would it work if I used the jiffy pots, and placed the container outside? Any help would be much appreciated.
