I want to start my plants from seeds and cannot find a site that does not offer idiotic things like seed warmers, intricate seed planting bulb crap etc. I am just a down to earth do it myself kind of person. I first attempt failed miserably (mold, gnats, spindly plants). Any ideas?

I’ve searched amazon, B&N, etc., but I haven’t found a book that focuses on Arkansas.

I had a little set when I was younger. It had a little rake about 1 1/2″ wide, plus one wide and one skinny trowel. It was just perfect for gardening in the house, for herb pots and the like. I would like another one, if possible with more things.

San Diego is very different then the mid west as far as gardening goes. I’m on a fixed income & can’t aford to waste my money. Garden centers here in Illinois rip you off when you have a question, because they only want to see you something. Is there a place in San Diego where I can find out about local garden news without trying to sell me something?

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as far as what I need to know, tips, and the best websites to visit?
I’m hoping to plant some vegetables like tomatoes and green beans, and transfering in a fully grown fruit tree, like apple, and a palm tree.
I live in a hot climate and I’m pretty sure the soil is mostly clay, if that helps.
